New Board Member Appointed to Maine Community College Board of Trustees

AUGUSTA – The Maine Community College System welcomes Kossi Gamedah as a new board member.

Gamedah, of Falmouth, is senior vice president of retail operations for Goodwill Northern New England. He previously served as Regional Director of Retail Operations for Dollar General Corporation for Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas.

Gamedah was appointed by Governor Janet Mills and confirmed by the Maine Senate. Its first board meeting took place on Wednesday April 28.

“I am very happy that Kossi has joined our board, especially as colleges expand their workforce training programs and we remain focused on a rapid response to the economic impact of the pandemic. about our community and our state, ”said Chairman of the Board Bill Cassidy.

“Kossi brings a valuable and timely perspective to the business community and I look forward to working with him,” said MCCS President David Daigler.

Gamedah is actively involved in community organizations, including serving as a board member for the Greater Portland Immigrant Welcome Center and as a youth club football coach.

Gamedah holds an MBA from Kaplan University and a BSc in Business Administration from Mount Olive University.

The Maine Community College System Board of Trustees is the decision-making authority for the system and consists of 13 appointed voting members, one ex-officio voting member and one non-voting ex-officio member.
