Letter to the Editor: Crossling is a dedicated school counselor
I am writing to tell you why Katherin Crossling has my vote for her re-election to the Ossining School Board.
Katherin is a down-to-earth empathetic person dedicated to the success of the youth of Ossining. She has volunteered hundreds of hours outside of her role as a school board administrator to ensure that all students in Ossining are provided with extraordinary enrichment, opportunity and resources. I volunteered with her at Ossining Destination Imagination tournaments and Explore and Learn sessions at Saturday Academy where I saw her unique magic at work. I have seen him genuinely and humbly connect with many families. Its support for community initiatives is limitless. She is the person who wants everyone to be successful and she will truly uplift others to prepare them for success.
Katherin can also be determined and fierce when needed. I have joined her at many Ossining For Fair Funding events over the past four years. She used her critical thinking and honed persuasive skills over her fifteen year legal career to articulate the struggles Ossining endured as a result of the decisions made at Albany. She found a way to make powerful remarks to our representatives which helped them become understanding of our predicament of being unfairly funded for many years. She has played a strategic role in her mission by working transparently with lobbyists, public relations representatives, school administration, fellow trustees, advocacy groups and community stakeholders. Most importantly, with the help of many, Ossining was successful. During his first tenure on the board, Ossining received the largest annual increase in state aid and pledged to be fully funded by 2023/2024. This record speaks for itself and I see no better candidate for re-election to the Ossining Board of Education.
